All about SharePoint best practice... ask me how
This blog is not dead just dormant.. time for a fresh start and some SharePoint news? [ Posted on: 29-October-2010 ]

Well where to start.. I’ve got a few questions from a few people on why I have totally abandoned the blog. To be quite honest I’d had way too much work and although I wanted to write some follow up posts with regards to SharePoint upgrading and also some general guidance for SharePoint 2010 with my full time job and everything else it just didn't happen. So I am going to try and make a fresh start on the blog front. To start this off here are some important local SharePoint announcements which I have been meaning to make for some time.

Wellington – SharePoint User Group

There are some great events lined up for Wellington in the coming months. As some of you may know fellow SharePoint MVP Mark Orange who was the co-leader of the group stepped down and  made way for Chaks Chandran to become the co-leader. Chaks has been involved in the NZ and worldwide SharePoint community and it’s great to have him on board to lead the local user group to the next chapter. Since Mark and myself have been involved in organising the SharePoint user groups across NZ over the last 5 years (Yes it’s been that long) I am also looking to hand over the reigns to some one who can help Chaks to continue on the foundation that has been built. If you want to keep track of all the events go to the MS Communities user group site which show cases events across New Zealand.

SharePoint Saturday – New Zealand in Christchurch

Say no more – if you are half interested in SharePoint development and infrastructure this is the event and it’s not to be missed. It’s a free community event that will be held on 11th of December in Christchurch. We already have some great speakers from overseas who will be there. The date is 11th December 2010 (Saturday).

New Zealand SharePoint Conference 2011 – Wellington – March 16th and 17th

Not a free event but it is THE event for New Zealand and in it’s third consecutive year in running. We have Joel Oleson and Mark Millar as our keynote speakers already confirmed. Make sure you put this in your calendar and start hassling your boss to get you to the event!  Go to the events page and sign up now for news and also speaker submissions are now open for New Zealand SharePoint Conference 2011.
