Knowledge Network is a Technical Preview add-on to Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) enhancing enterprise search for people by automating the discovery of the business relationships and subject matter expertise of everyone in the network.

You'll need to have a live (hotmail) sign in to get to the download page. There are a few clicks to get through until finally you can get hold of the download which is about 30MB in size.
This release features the following enhancements and promises to be a stable build:
- Back-off functionality to improve your experience when you are performing activities on your machine
- Various performance enhancements on both the client and server
- Improved keyword quality and generation
- An inner-circle web part that highlights people closest to you and are most likely to assist with your query
The 30MB package contains the software and documentation for the Knowledge Network.
KnowledgeNetworkClient.exe:
This self-extracting file contains the bits for the client component of KN. Please follow the instructions in the deployment guide upon extracting the EXE.
KnowledgeNetworkServer.exe:
This file has the bits for the server component of KN. Again refer to the deployment guide on how to proceed with the installation of the server. The 32-bit version of the server bits is in the server/x86 directory whereas the 64-bit version is located in x64 server/x64 subdirectory.
Deployment Guide.doc:
This deployment contains the installation instructions as well as detailed information on the configuration and administration of the Knowledge Network system
KNPolicies.adm:
This file has the list of policies that can be imported into Active Directory for the purpose of managing the KN client software on users' desktops
KnownIssues.txt:
This file has the list of the known issues at the time of this release and work-arounds for each issue.
KIServerProcs.sql:
The file is required as part of the work-around for the collation-related database creation known issue.
