It is my pleasure to announce that the New Zealand SharePoint user group is now using the CKS 1.0 edition. Thanks to Ian Morrish of Microsoft New Zealand for the help and setup of the site. Application Templates the next 20 out now! [ Posted on: 23-February-2007 ]


The rest of the templates from the fantastic 40 are now available for download. These are server admin templates which provide enhanced functionality with workflows along with customised lists and libraries. The previous 20 released were site admin templates. You may ask, what is the difference between a site admin template and a server admin template? Basically a site admin template is created using browser based customisations in a WSS site and saving that to the template gallery. You can see this in Site administration for the site collection. Then this is available within the site template gallery. A server admin template is when you create a new site definition of an existing one and modifying this for greater functionality. I also have the 2003 version which I have used extensively for reference when Implementing Portal Server 2003.
